Philanthropy

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

Delta Epsilon Psi Fraternity Inc. is a fraternal organization devoted to establishing a positive impact on society by being passionate philanthropists. Since our humble beginning in 1998, we as South Asian leaders have maintained a positive reputation with unyielding results in every task that we undertake. As the largest South Asian fraternity in the nation, our common goal has always been to strengthen and establish a strong presence in our local communities while developing a strong national image as dedicated servants to our community. However, as professionals and students, doing what is essential has never been our strong suite. We are men of action and by exposing ourselves to various aspects of community life and service, we have come to encompass the ideology of service through leadership and excellence. Through our proactive approach to service we have spread the idea that every action we take not only affects ourselves, but also those around us.

Our fraternity here at N.J.I.T. prides ourselves on our ongoing service for JDRF . We have been in an on going effort to throw Dodging Diabetes in support of JDRF. This is a 5 vs 5 Dodge-ball tournament that takes place in order to raise funds and raise awareness for Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes. Every spring, we throw Who's Got Game 5 vs 5 Charity Basketball tournament. Here, students from all over campus come together for a common cause, to support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Our last Who's Got Game tournament was a huge success, raising over $500 in support of JDRF.

On February 16th, 2011 Delta Epsilon Psi announced its official partnership with with JDRF, formerly known as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The partnership marked one of the most significant milestone achievements in the history of the fraternity. As partners of a corporate entity, the fraternity’s bounds in supporting its primary philanthropy, type 1 diabetes, have become limitless. The professional status of every signature service event for JDRF has allowed Delta Epsilon Psi to reach out to more individuals on a larger scale, thus resulting in more funds in support of JDRF’s cause.

JDRF and Delta Epsilon Psi Fraternity Inc. team up every year to nationally raise money and help promote awareness for the cause. Through the newly formed partnership with the JDRF, Delta Epsilon Psi has committed to the responsibility of bringing support from not only the South Asian populous, but also from America’ s collegiate community. As students on our respective college campuses, we see a rich atmosphere of progress that can act as a channel from which a small message from one fraternity can become a national movement by many organizations and college campuses nationally as well as globally.

The brothers of Delta Epsilon Psi are committed to preserving the mission of our predecessors in the fight against juvenile diabetes. Raising over $50,000 annually, Delta Epsilon Psi contributes 100% of its efforts to providing awareness and funds in support of the JDRF mission to find a cure.

Bone Marrow Drive

As leaders in our respective communities and as devoted philanthropists among college students, Delta Epsilon Psi takes the initiative to help Be the Match Foundation by supporting them in their mission to create awareness and save lives through registered donors.

Our fraternity is not only committed to continuing awareness for the National Bone Marrow Donor Program, we are also committed to providing potential matches for the national match registry. In the past year, Delta Epsilon Psi registered over 500 individuals to the program with the future aim of increasing the amount annually.

It is our mission to provide an outlet for the registry through our various chapters by hosting numerous events during our philanthropy weeks as well as throughout numerous dates in the semester that not only raise awareness but also register potential donors.
